“ Tuna fish sandwich was fresh and full of flavor. ”
“ Absolutely love the customer service!!! The staff is beyond friendly always gets my order, right. Its like my grandma home cooked food and that says alot. ”
“ This is a nice, small, and cozy place for neighborhood folks to eat good food and shoot the breeze with one another. Everybody joins in on the conversations, especially sports, and has a good time! ”
“ Wowowowowowowowowo! Best, most massive Rueben ive had so far in DC. Ive had Harveys and Union Market. I thought this was better and the price was definitely better. I got a MASSIVE Rueben with a huge order of fries for less than a Harveys sandwich. I will be back. Every item on menu sounds delicious! The restaurant is a step back into DC when it was grand. People conversing from 1 table to another who have probably been going there for what feels like decades! I need to go on a diet soon. Just trying this place for first time will not bode well for that! ”
“ Best pastrami sandwich in DC....by a landslide! A few other places had a decent one like now closed On Rye in Chinatown, but they were always overpriced and just not worth the money. For under 9, you can get a large hot pastrami sandwich that will rock your taste buds and it comes with a really, really good pickle. Dont get me wrong. This place doesnt look cool and its a hike to get there its nowhere close to a metro, but its worth it. Its a 1960s small hut with a orange mural marking its location. When you walk in, it feels like a small cafeteria filled with locals eating their sandwiches. Youll see construction workers and old men in suits and hats having lunch they arent open for dinner...darn!. After reading the very old menu, a friendly woman will take your order. Wait until its ready and pay up front cash only theres an ATM at the gas station next door. You cant go wrong here, but the hot pastrami sandwich on wheat with cheese and mustard is to die for. They sell old school Dr Browns soda, which is fitting. To make it on Yelp, you either have to believe in the power of peer reviews and surprise and delight Roses Luxury on Barracks Row does this well or own who you are and dont give a damn. Deli City is the latter and it works...like five star works. ”
“ I LOVE it here. I enjoy the soulful cooked meals, the service is very nice and I especially enjoy the other patrons who have been coming here for years and years like myself. I like to sit and have a few laughs . Its a great, fun place to sit,and enjoy. Take out is superb as well. The owner is so kind and I miss his mother as she adored me. ”
“ I have never ever taste a fish sandwich this good in my life. It tastes better than any high end restaurant. The service was excellent, the waitress was so polite and friendly. Ive been there several times over the years and I always order the same thing the fish sandwich. As I observed the people that patronize the restaurant. Some ordered takeout and some ate inside. Everything thing I had seen on others plates from the breakfast foods and well stacked deli sandwiches looked good. The restaurant is very cozy and family friendly. I highly recommend it, if youre ever in the area. and ”
“ One of my favorite mom pop shops!!!! Classic food for everyone they never let me down ”
